There will be one of each professional allocated to each area/locality.
Our children’s learning disability nurses, hospital liaison nurse and therapists work across the Wigan borough. This allows for a consistent approach and optimum care being provided.
Where are we?
We work across the Wigan Borough which is spilt into the three localities listed below:
- Wigan Locality
- Ashton Locality
- Leigh Locality
To access our service, you need to have a GP within one of the above localities.

These are the duty phone numbers, and someone will be available Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm to take your call. Out of these hours you can leave a voicemail, someone will then get back to you the following working day to help you with your enquiry. Please note we are not an emergency service, if you require an emergency service, please contact the relevant agency.
Referral pathway
We accept referrals from patients, family members, carers and professionals by email or they can be posted to the address given on the referral form.

However, if you cannot access emails or do not have a copy of the referral form, you can contact the children’s team on 01942 481347 for any child queries or the adult duty team on 01942 483560 for any adult queries.
