What is happening?
We are delighted to share that we are working with NHS Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Flexdane and Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Teaching Foundation Trust on the development of a new health and wellbeing centre on Parr Bridge Retail Park, Mosley Common Road, Tyldesley.
The practice will relocate into this new health and wellbeing centre once it is complete. Building works are expected to start early 2022 with completion early 2023.
Why is this happening?
Our existing practice premises are not fit for purpose. We don’t have enough space to deliver our services and we need to consider that our practice list is growing with more housing developments in the area planned.
The opportunity to relocate into a new building will give us the space to increase our existing services.
The new health and wellbeing centre is 960 meters away from our current practice and has more parking and facilities than we currently do. Some community health services will also be located in the new building which is fantastic for the local area.
Where can I find more information?
We appreciate this is a change and some of our patients may need to travel a little bit further to access the practice when we relocate into the building. We would like to hear from you about this and get your feedback.

Will you need to re-register as a patient once the practice moves?
No – if you are registered with us, you won’t need to do anything at all.
Will it be the same Boothstown Medical Centre Team?
Yes – the practice team will stay the same when we move into the new building. Our hope is to add to our team when we have more space.
